A good, old friend of mine has been in the window washing business as long as I can remember. He has always had a bucket and some gear in his back seat; oftentimes with a pole sticking out his back window (he used to drive a car as long as he is tall, so it was always entertaining to see). After seeing him do great work for family members year after year, I was excited when he came to me looking for a fresh logo.
We talked about the name and what distinct features similar companies incorporated in their design. Using the orange that you typically see on the blade of commercial-grade squeegee’s in the font’s gradient was a touch only a professional in the window washing industry would recognize, but was important nonetheless. Developing a logo is just as much an advertisement to potential customers that you are a professional, able to be trusted, as it is a declaration of intent toward the competition. Being taken seriously can make a world of a difference in day-to-day business; especially when you go head-to-head with the opposition – of course I’m referring to bidding jobs 😉
